In particular, we help minimize reduction in FEMA grant amounts made as a result of insurance coverage and other "duplications of benefits"; identify and implement potential opportunities for adding mitigation and upgrade costs to grant benefits; and prepare appeals from application denials and reducedeligibility.
  • Specialized National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Support FEMA Law Associates offers support to organizations that participate in DHS/FEMA's NFIP, which carries its own detailed set of regulations and policies and therefore its own set of restrictions, issues and complications.
  • General FEMA Regulatory Support — FEMA Law Associates constantly monitors all DHS/FEMA regulations and programs to identify proposals that adversely affect clients’ interests. We represent clients before DHS/FEMA to ensure that their interests are fully understood and considered during DHS/FEMA's rulemaking process.
  • Emergency Management Preparedness Guidance — FEMA Law Associates has a keen working knowledge of the legal authorities and issues related to emergency management preparedness. We can advise clients who may be eligible for funding through one or more of the nation’s emergency preparedness initiatives or who are directed by the federal government to supply goods or services under the nation's emergency preparedness and civil defense authorities.

  • Education and Training — FEMA Law Associates offers formal training sessions as well as informal seminars on a number of issues covering the topics of Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Health Emergency Law, Hurricane Katrina response. These programs familiarize clients’ staff teams, and other professionals with DHS/FEMA's programs, eligibility, and processes.
