Our Founder and Principal
Ernest B. Abbott has a well-deserved reputation as one of the nation's leading authorities on the legal and regulatory aspects of disaster preparedness and recovery.
Mr. Abbott has a broad and deep background in regulatory law. A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, he worked with several federal agencies and with private critical infrastructure providers before joining FEMA as General Counsel in 1998. Mr. Abbott subsequently founded FEMA Law Associates, using the knowledge and experience his previous governmen and private sector work offered. In addition to his legal and consulting work, Ernest Abbott frequently lectures in FEMA-related topics before government agencies and his legal colleagues.
Mr. Abbott works directly with our firm's clients to resolve their legal issues. When needed, he draws upon the support offered by a network of associate attorneys and experts in various technical disciplines.
